The hotel was situated in a great location, very close to the Geisha district and public transport. It was near plenty of convenience stores, restaurants, and main scenic spots. the rooms were well-designed with clever solutions, great bathrooms, and amazing showers. Service was really good, with daily cleaning and towel and pajama replacements.
The hotel could have been cleaner and the bedsheets were uncomfortable and scratchy.

The power points and USB ports by the bed worked great for charging devices and staying connected. the shower was definitely the best part of the room, just like everyone says. As for location, it was close to many interesting sights, which was handy since we only had a weekend in the city. And the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming.
First off, the beds were incredibly firm and uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night's rest.

My stay at The General Kyoto Yamatooji was superb. The location was excellent, just a block away from the Gion district and other attractions. The hotel was clean, new, and well-maintained. The bunk beds were comfortable and provided privacy with USB and electric outlets. Despite the minor inconvenience of noise from surrounding rooms, I really enjoyed my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Spending New Year’s Eve at this hotel was a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering complimentary breakfast and coffee. The modern and stylish interior was exceptionally clean, and the shower was fantastic. the hotel was conveniently located in the heart of the Gion district, and just a short walk away from a train station.
The beds were uncomfortable and didn't allow for a good night's sleep. However, this was the only downside to an otherwise exceptional stay.

We loved our stay in this hotel. The location was perfect for exploring this city, being in the heart of the Geisha district. The hotel facilities were awesome. The room, though small, was well-equipped and impeccably clean, with a fantastic bathroom and shower. We also appreciated the famous Japanese hospitality of the staff.
There was nothing we didn't like.
